In the last 3 months under a Startup, I have found myself dabbling with cloud technologies & gravitating towards Containers as I had intended in my DevNet journey.

I invited John Capobianco again on my podcast, this time not to talk about Merlin his side project which has recently earned him an award from Cisco, but to discuss an underlying technology he uses on his side project called, CONTAINERS.

“Containers are like CD ROMs containing operating systems, source codes, etc.” he said.

I recently have been seeing it used in new Cisco Routers, and also to deploy game servers on the Metaverse (visit my previous episodes to listen more about the Metaverse). So, I invited John over to briefly discuss this underlying technology and why we should equip ourselves with this skill for the next enterprise wave. Enjoy!

In 2020, the pandemic made everyone seek new means to socialize, the only option was to turn to the internet. This is was the same year a startups’ app called “Clubhouse”, now valued at $4 Billion, went mainstream.

At last, humans found a way to hang out in the comfort of their rooms.

Fast forward to 2021, many big tech companies want to build their own “Clubhouse Competitor”.
