Loud & Complicit

On this week’s 6th and final (???) episode of Loud & Complicit: 

Just a few weeks after Kayce and Liz opened up about societal pressure that comes from the "there’s only room for one us” mentality, the Internet jumped at the chance to label Barstool’s newest hire "Kayce’s replacement”… all while two of sports biggest female journalists are very publicly dealing with the consequences of that same mindset with the added complication of a racial awakening brought on by the pandemic.

Let’s talk about sex, shall we? In episode 4, Kayce and Liz share stories about navigating through learning about sex, their bodies and growing up. Everybody wants to talk about the pretty side of things, but rarely are the uncomfortable stories told. Growing pains are a part of the game, so let’s get real (and laugh about) about them.

Life is all about crossroads. Kayce and Liz talk about their own decisions to chase their careers while acknowledging that it’s never easy to “put yourself first.” Whether you’re single by choice or you’re ready for forever, each crossroad moment means something. And by the way, pretending to have it all is unrealistic. So let’s accept we can’t have it all and start celebrating the moments (ALL of them) that got us here.

Loud & Complicit looks inside the bullshit and beauty life brings to two unmarried, childless, career-driven women in their 30s. Hosted by Kayce Smith and Liz Gonzales, the two discuss working in an industry that is not only male-dominated, but also mostly about men. Some find them to be too loud, while others have decided they’re silently complicit to a culture of misogyny. But this isn’t about the men; this is about the Loud & Complicit women, and they’re coming to you every Tuesday, beginning on June 15th.
