Posey was born in 1965 and grew up in northeastern Ohio. He was “a mama’s boy,” according to his ex-wife, Lisa Luke, but also enjoyed riding dirt bikes and playing the drums. 

Posey and Luke started dating when she was 17 and he was 21. After two years, she became pregnant with their first son and they were married. In 1994, Posey and Luke opened up a tanning salon. The couple soon welcomed another son and a daughter. 

“Dan was an amazing father,” Luke told “Snapped.” “In the whole time we were married, never once did he not put his kids first above everything.”

The stresses of life and work, however, take their toll on the Poseys' marriage. When one of their boys was diagnosed with leukemia, everything fell apart.
