Kevin J. Brazant (Lounge Akademics™, Disrupt the Discourse) is joined by acclaimed artist and London College of Fashion alumna Karla Cornwall to explore creativity, survival, and disruption within and beyond education.
Karla reflects on navigating teaching spaces that failed to recognise her voice, and how radical self-belief transformed exclusion into international recognition. Her practice spans fashion, fine art, and cultural institutions, with work exhibited globally, commissioned by the Trinidad & Tobago High Commission, developed with Puma, and featured in Netflix’s Supacell.
Together, they examine how Black creatives resist erasure, reimagine belonging, and convert lived experience into power, presence, and possibility.
This event offers an intimate, honest account of Disrupting the Discourse in action — where marginalisation becomes method, storytelling becomes archive, and learning becomes an act of freedom.
