A lovely story about London families during the war. Characters brought to life by the superb narration of Kim Hicks.

A must read for lovers of this genre. Highly recommended!

The story line was really good the reader made the characters have their own voices brilliant I am hoping there will be a following book

Awful narrator Im sorry, story ok...

Sorry to say but the narrator completely put me off this story!

The story was ok, end was disappointing and bits predictable!

Im dyslexic so use audiobooks and kindles dyslexic app! but I dont think I would read or listen to on audiobooks again.

this story starts in 1939 where Eileen is worrying there will be another war and thankful that she has 3 girls. at least she feels they will be safe/

a well written story with likeable characters who draw you into their world of bombs and survival. a good wartime story.

kim hicks was ok performing the story but I found I didn't like the voice she gave one of the girls.
