Cat Besk, the podcast host, shares her journey to loving outside her comfort zone. When we see something that breaks out heart, what is our response? Let's be merciful AND fight for justice. Let's draw near to the marginalized.
Cat's mom, Gretchen Carlock Blincoe, comes on the show to share how as a stay-at-home mom and now stay-at-home-grandmother, she extravagantly loves people with food. She may be a fancy at home chef, but it's not really about the food. It is about showing people you care with the gifts and talents that you have been given.
The author of "The Audacious Woman" joins us and takes us on a journey through the Bible re-examining the lives and history of these heroes of the faith!
Heather Goode is Co-Founder of Arukah Project, a faith-based non-profit 501(c)3 focused on transforming communities through the restoration of women in Santa Cruz, California. In 2016, after 26 years juggling life as a wife, mother, business owner, real estate developer, church leader, teacher and mentor, Heather left a successful career to focus on her lifelong calling, becoming an ordained minister with a passion to help women discover their identity, purpose, calling, connection and influence. Along with speaking engagements, one on one mentoring, international missions and pastoral leadership, Heather serves as the Executive Director and Pastoral Leader of Arukah Project.
Jenn Kearney shares her passion for advocating for students who are homeless. She meets them where they are, as they are and accepts them and protects them. She steps in as a mothering figure and speaks up for teens who are hurting and struggling. Let's all speak up for the voiceless and defend the oppressed together! There are so many ways in which we can help in the world. Let's love BIG today.
Today we get to meet with a dear friend of mine named Jenny. Jenny lives overseas and we talk about how God sometimes interrupts our plans and how even though that can be hard it is also beautiful. We all have value. We all have something to share with the world. We are called to be faithful and love in big and small ways!
In the, "Love Because of Love," premiere, I begin our podcast talking about receiving love. If we want to build a loving and supportive community, then we first have to be willing to accept help when it is offered. When we say yes to the love and help of others, we open doors to intimacy and lasting relationships. It will change your life when you allow others to be a blessing to you. I am excited to have you join me as we jump in and love each other in big ways!
Love Because of Love is going to amplify the voices of ordinary people who are loving others in extraordinary ways. I want to elevate, inspire, and empower people to go out in their daily routine and respond to love with action. Today's episode is an introduction to the host and a preview of what this podcast is about. Go out and love someone well today!
