This topic was so good we had to do two parts!! In Part 2 of this episode Therisa & Cristal talk about friendships that hurt but also help you grow, including how friends can “elevate” you by opening your eyes and shaping how you share your life. They discuss taking responsibility when harm happens, learning from therapy that friendships require defined expectations, and recognizing that people have different capacities in different seasons. They emphasize empathy, not setting friends up for failure by expecting strengths they don’t have, and accepting that not everyone communicates the same way or provides closure. The conversation includes personal examples (emergency contacts while single, friends sharing locations, church and travel mishaps, and being accountable in different areas like business, food, or fitness). They wrap up with encouragement to forgive yourself and your friends, choose friends wisely, and seek God’s guidance and discernment, ending with shout-outs and a prayer for divine friendships and community.
