African American women under age 35 have rates of breast cancer two times higher than Caucasian women under age 35. Diagnosing breast cancer in younger women, under 40 years old, is more difficult because routine screening is not recommended. So, it is important for young women, more so African American young women, to do self-examinations. This episode we will talk to a young woman of color who discovered her breast cancer while doing a self-examination.
