Room Taken is a Screen Ireland-funded short film, executive produced by Colin Farrell and produced by Vico Films. Blending humour and suspense with themes of loneliness, resilience, and grief, the film follows Isaac, a newly arrived asylum seeker in Ireland, who stumbles upon an unexpected answer to his temporary homelessness.The film has won 40 awards, including Best Irish Short Film at the Dublin International Film Festival, Best Short Film at the Cleveland International Film Festival, Gold for Best Film at Manhattan Short 2024, Best International Short at the Norwich Film Festival, and the Founders Award at the British Short Film Awards. This week we virtually sat down with Aussie filmmakers Danielo Barcelli and Sarah Leiker to discuss their upcoming in-production fan film, 'Gotham Noir'! We also talk about their previous work, their experiences and of course advice for filmmakers.

What if Batman was set in the early 1900s and was filled with horror and action? This is exactly what Gotham Noir is about.

The film follows Batman (played by Bruno Attanasio) as he hunts down a deranged serial killer known as “The Pyg,” who preys on low-income women in Gotham’s poorest district, The Narrows. Newly appointed Commissioner James Gordon (played by Kourosh Karimian) faces challenges from corrupt colleagues who refuse to take the murders seriously.

Together with Catwoman (played by Rose Lonergan), Batman and Gordon race against time to stop the killer and uncover deeper conspiracies.
