You’ve heard the story of David and Goliath…but you may not have heard it like this.

David led a complicated life. He was a young shepherd who turned into a hero, who also had massive failures in his life. At the beginning, though, he was the most unlikely person to be on a pathway to greatness. If God can use someone like David, maybe He can use you and me too.

How do you make good decisions in times of emotional stress? We don’t make decisions in a vacuum - we make them while being influenced by all kinds of things. Jesus has a lot to teach us about how to navigate traumatic circumstances.

The Bible talks about 4 types of people…only one of which is wise. Which one are you? Which one do you want to be?

We all have influences in our lives - both good and bad. Influences are about the decisions we make. Who is influencing you, and how can you make good decisions in spite of all the influences around you?

Jesus talked about faith with a wide range of different types of people who have different levels of faith. Maybe faith is more of a journey and less of a score that you gave yourself.

Most of the great things that happen to us in the adventure of life happen with other people. Community is important, and Jesus wants to use it to grow us and move us forward.

Life really is a long journey - and we are all carrying baggage along with us. Some of it we were born with. Some of it we picked up along the way. There are things we are supposed to carry - like our calling, our purpose, our responsibilities, our relationships…but there are other things we pick up that become burdens and weigh us down. Jesus invites us to travel light. How can we do that in a world that tries to hand us extra baggage?

All around us, we are encouraged to have more. More money, more clothes, more house, more cars, more followers…more. When does it stop? Can it stop? What does God have to say about it all?

If you really want your faith to be an adventure, it will involve other people, and because of that, will become at times inconvenient for you. Are you ready to take a step beyond yourself, and toward others who may be in need?
