Women’s history month will highlight one of my favorite authors who I don’t think gets the sci-fi shine she deserves. Octavia Butler- race, time, otherness, gender. Born June 22, 1947. She died right here in Washington state 2006 at the young age of 58.

She wrote Dawn in 1987 which featured polyrelationships and multiple genders.
