In this episode, I talk a little about narcissists. Owl’s power is keen observation. There’s no easy way to get rid of a narcissist. Even when they focus on their next victim, they will still want some hold over you. Isolation is both a blessing and curse. I never get to it in this episode but learning to start new relationships in new social groups helps when removing this type of manipulation. Narcissists don’t like competition (why the isolation is so important to them). When you have healthy strong relationships with agreed boundaries, it makes their manipulation of your friends void and reflects badly back to them. Once they start their game to single you out, it’s that past reputation that saves your valued friendships. The others were a waste of time, and that’s the Silver lining. Never engage in an argument with them. Just the act of doing makes them the winner either way. Never talk behind their back, just give facts and that’s enough. It’s just behavioral science and the people meant to be in your life will see right through it, no matter how deep you’re in with a narcissist. I mention Prefect Circle “pet,” but the whole album sums up those type of narcissist in “romantic relationships.” Most of us experience narcissism in our friendships. It is very common but the extent is measured on what they intend to take from you. Be careful out there. Isolation might be lonely but within it you heal and have room to grow. You realize how they changed the way you looked at yourself. A narcissist wants to control your imagine, your projection to others, your self esteem and by doing so, perfectly, take advantage of you indefinitely. You’ll have to be strong, be an asshole, be misunderstood, be the villain as you take back your power they stole. Never give an inch and you’ll get out of it. Good luck.
