Join us as we delve into the fight or flight response, the sense of powerlessness, and the effects of trauma on the brain and relationships. Gain a deeper understanding of trauma's general impact and explore healing strategies. Trauma affects us all differently. You are not alone. You are not weird. The poverty mindset causes us to look at the circumstances in our lives and doubt our  ability to handle the hard stuff. Because we’re looking at the obstacles we struggle to truly understand that God will provide what we need. Identity, finances, relationships - nothing is off limits for us to become stuck in unhealthy patterns. In this episode, we discuss how easy it is to struggle with a poverty mindset and how so many of us desire so much more for our lives but can’t quite figure out how to get unstuck. When we learn how to crack the poverty mindset code, we begin to look at and interact with the things we feel we lack in a vastly different way.

Communicating with people can get tricky! We all come to the table with a deep root system of beliefs, experiences, and feelings. Let’s also not forget how vastly different men and women communicate. It can all feel overwhelming for sure. As we learn to know ourselves better and communicate clearly in ways other people can receive, we see the dynamics shift; some for the better and some for the worse if others refuse to step into healthier communication. Learning to let people communicate for themselves and to put the effort into our own growth in how we show up and communicate is hard. When we do, it's powerful in helping us thrive in our relationships!Â
Friendships are gifts from God and take effort to show up in the vulnerable places. Sometimes it’s messy and getting to know someone can be challenging and require selflessness, but when we show up with the love like Jesus showed us, it is absolutely life changing. When we show up courageously and love others first before waiting to be loved, we can show the heart of Jesus so much more and build such strong foundations in our friendships and communities. Â
Let's chat about the great and the hard parts of mentorship and accountability! Learning to trust is hard; we all have experiences that tell us not to, yet deep down we still yearn to trust and be trusted in return. Learning to love, lead and be led are all parts of developing healthy trust in relationships. We'll also chat about how to speak truth in love to those who are resistant to mentoring or being held accountable. When done well, we learn that the way we love best is from the overflow of being loved by Jesus.Â
