This episode features three pieces of correspondence from late summer 1950, including a description of Sweetie and Lew going to a local auction to sell some of their things and stopping by an antique store on the way home, and then Sweetie tells the story about Lewis' cousin, Little Marguerite being born, who is the daughter of Elizabeth, Lew's sister.

The end of this episode also features an update on what was occurring in the Korean War in August and early September 1950.

This episode features letters from late summer 1950.  Sweetie writes about what is occurring at home in Hatboro, Pennsylvania, and notes that she has taken her son, Lewis, to go see Walt Disney's Cinderella at the local movie theater.  Meanwhile, she comments on watching coverage of the United Nations during the beginning of the Korean War, and reviews the possibility that her husband and other family and friends may have to go overseas to serve.

Additionally, this episode features the first letter that Sweetie independently writes to Glen Joss, who is at that time in a relationship with her sister, Jeanne.

This episode of the Love Sweetie Podcast begins with a discussion of the start of the Korean War in late June 1950.  Then, we proceed to review Sweetie's letters from late July 1950, after she returned home to Pennsylvania from Iowa.  With Sweetie's husband, Lew, serving in the US Navy at NAS Willow Grove, she is concerned that he might be sent overseas during the conflict, and notes the effect that the War is already making on life at home.

This episode features three family letters from February and March 1950.  We learn from the first letter that Sweetie is determined to stay home that summer and not go to Lacona, Iowa to visit her family for a variety of reasons.  She then writes a more extensive letter addressing a variety of different subjects, most notably what programs their family are watching on their new television set.

In this episode, we also discuss a painting that was done by Sweetie's father, Chester Demaree, M.D., most likely in the 1930's, of the Grand Canyon.  It is a family heirloom, and a picture of this painting appears in this episode and can be viewed in the photo albums on the podcast website.

This episode features four letters - the first from Sweetie's father, Chester Demaree, M.D. in early January 1950 and the last three from Sweetie herself, writing to her family for the first time in 1950.  In Chester's letter, we learn about a trip he took with a patient from Lacona, Iowa to the hospital in Des Moines, with his car needing to be towed to get there.  He then goes on to make his plans for the calves he has been raising on his farm in Lacona.  From Sweetie we learn what the beginning of the year has been like for her family in Hatboro, and we also find out that Sweetie's mother-in-law, Sidney, has completely moved out of the Graham family home in Collingdale, Pennsylvania to go live with her daughter's family (Elizabeth Brown).
