In celebration of Women’s History Month (March) and Black Women’s History Month (April), this episode features Kendall Ferguson, a Dallas Arts Administrator and the steward of the historic Juanita Craft House. This museum honors the life and legacy of Juanita Craft, a trailblazing, civil rights activist whose relentless fight for justice shaped the course of history.

A dedicated leader within the NAACP, Mrs. Craft was a force in the battle for desegregation, equitable healthcare, and the rights of African-Americans, Mexican-Americans, and the LGBTQIA community. Her home became a haven for prominent figures—from U.S. presidents and civil rights leaders to jazz greats and opera stars—as well as countless Black travelers seeking safety and solidarity in a segregated America.

In this episode, Anietie talks with Kendall Ferguson who delves into Mrs. Craft’s extraordinary contributions, the significance of the Craft House, and the overlooked yet essential role of Black women in the civil rights movement. As we navigate a time when hard-won progress feels increasingly at risk, we reflect on these powerful women who paved the way—and the responsibility we share in carrying their mission forward.
