Self-Love isn’t a new term. Every season, a new set of influencers influence us on how we should be loving ourselves. I am by no means an 'influencer', but I hope and pray that today that influence you in some way with my version of self-love.
So let me let you in on a little secret! Self love does not come from the outside in... In fact, you can change everything about you and still find something to grumble about. Self-love comes from the inside out.
Until you learn to truly love those things about yourself that make you cringe and cry and throw your clothes out of the closet a rage, you will always be wanting something more. You will never feel like you are enough.

All of it worked just enough to give me a boost, but there was still something missing. In fact, the absolute most important piece.
EXCESSIVE GRATITUDE TO THE *ONE* THAT CREATED ME.
And realize, He makes no mistakes!
Then I became grateful for who I am, how I am, and where I’m at, and how God created me. I found contentment, joy, and ultimately began to truly love me in a non-egotistical (is that EVEN a word?!) manner.
I started writing daily Thank you God for…. I learned to thank Him for the things I hated about myself. I thanked Him for the traits I possessed like-- relentlessness, tenacity, etc.
When I started to become excessively grateful, my world changed. To whom much is given, much is expected. And He has given me so much! He made me... and YOU unique and beautiful all in our own way. He gave us characteristics and talents nobody else possesses in the same sequence. How AMAZING is that! Let that sink in-- BILLIONS of people in the world and we were created "fearfully and wonderfully" unique. Most of the time we hate those things that are unique or we try to fix it to fit into the norm. We treat them like a plague and we complain about those things. When I changed my mindset to thank God for the things that weren't the norm, the trend, or characteristic traits deemed negative, I learned to love those things AND even use them in a positive way.
Learn to love yourself how you are and then the extras are just bonus!
I am content in my journey.
I’m okay with growing where I am planted.
It's easier to work on myself because I love what I'm working with.
When people compliment me, I say thank you.
I laugh at my failures.
I appreciate my flaws.
And I love myself!
Life is so much more enjoyable for me and everyone around me! When you love the way God created YOU, the world can tell!
There are 28 days in February! I dare you to try it and see just how differently you glow come March 1st!
