Dream Quest of Unknown Kadath was unrevised and unpublished in Lovecraft’s lifetime but contains many links to the Old Gods, including Nyarlathotep. Randolph Cater begins a journey to find Kadath, and along the way encounters the cats of Ulthar, Kuranes of the Dreamlands, and the Men of Leng.

ASMR reading of the short story, The White Ship, by HP Lovecraft, 1919. Creaking, pirate ship and ocean sounds have been added for atmosphere. Listen with headphones for the best experience.   The White Ship was originally published in the United Amateur and later appeared in a 1927 issue of Weird Tales. The story follows Basil Elton, a lighthouse keeper, who engages in a peculiar fantasy in which a bearded man in robes is piloting a mystical white ship which appears when the moon is full. Elton walks across the water on a bridge of moonbeams, joins the bearded man on the ship, and together they explore a mystical chain of islands unlike anything that can be found on Earth. He travels to many mystical cities and eventually plummets off the edge of the world.

The Outsider begins with a mysterious man who has been living alone in a castle for his entire life. His only knowledge of the world comes from books and he's never had human contact or seen the sun. He becomes brave enough to travel to the top of his castle, only to find that he has been living deep underground. He is compelled to seek out human contact but ends up horrified to realize he is The Other, a creature not the same as the humans, and a creature so hideous to terrify even himself.

Nyarlathotep is a malign deity of the Lovecraft mythos and is considered one of the Outer Gods, or a malevolent pantheon. Initially, Nyarlathotep is described as an Egyptian pharaoh, where he wanders the earth gathering legions of followers. The narrator of the story begins to explain the world’s collapse as the story draws to a close.

A university student takes up the cheapest lodging he can find and realizes he is in a strange part of town called the Rue d'Auseil where another tenant, Erich Zann, also lives. Zann is a mute viol player and is tormented by things from another dimension. The narrator is first drawn in by Zann's music but then is horrified to learn how dark the abyss is which has taken Zann's soul.  #hplovecraft #hplovecraftasmr #musicoferichzann
