  • Day 40: The Moment Everything Changes
“The resurrection is the empty tomb that holds every hope we have ever known.” An excerpt from Loved to Life Transcript This is your deepest assurance that you are Loved to Life. Day 40: The Moment Everything Changes Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance. So she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him!” . . . Now Mary stood outside the tomb crying. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb and saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus’ body had been, one at the head and the other at the foot. They asked her, “Woman, why are you crying?” “They have taken my Lord away,” she said, “and I don’t know where they have put him.” At this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not realize that it was Jesus. He asked her, “Woman, why are you crying? Who is […]

  • Day 39: Salvation Saturday
“On the days when it all feels too much — that’s exactly when God is doing much more than you could ever imagine.” An excerpt from Loved to Life Transcript This is your deepest assurance that you are Loved to Life. Day 39: Salvation Saturday Later, Joseph of Arimathea asked Pilate for the body of Jesus. Now Joseph was a disciple of Jesus, but secretly because he feared the Jewish leaders. With Pilate’s permission, he came and took the body away. He was accompanied by Nicodemus, the man who earlier had visited Jesus at night. Nicodemus brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about seventy-five pounds. Taking Jesus’ body, the two of them wrapped it, with the spices, in strips of linen. This was in accordance with Jewish burial customs. At the place where Jesus was crucified, there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb, in which no one had ever been laid. Because it was the Jewish day of Preparation and since the tomb was nearby, they laid Jesus there. JOHN 19:38‑42 In the name of the only One who has ever loved you to death and back to the fullest life — in Jesus’ name […]

  • Day 38: Pierced
“Christ dies of a broken heart so you can fully live with a whole one.” An excerpt from Loved to Life Transcript This is your deepest assurance that you are Loved to Life. Day 38: Pierced After this, Jesus, knowing that all was now finished, said (to fulfill the Scripture), “I thirst.” A jar full of sour wine stood there, so they put a sponge full of the sour wine on a hyssop branch and held it to his mouth. When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. Since it was the day of Preparation, and so that the bodies would not remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a high day), the Jews asked Pilate that their legs might be broken and that they might be taken away. So the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first, and of the other who had been crucified with him. But when they came to Jesus and saw that he was already dead, they did not break his legs. But one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and at […]

  • Day 37: The Revolutionary Center
“Jesus bears his cross for you, but is is you He is carrying.” An excerpt from Loved to Life Transcript This is your deepest assurance that you are Loved to Life. Day 37: The Revolutionary Center So they took Jesus, and he went out, bearing his own cross, to the place called The Place of a Skull, which in Aramaic is called Golgotha. There they crucified him, and with him two others, one on either side, and Jesus between them. Pilate also wrote an inscription and put it on the cross. It read, “Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews.” Many of the Jews read this inscription, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city, and it was written in Aramaic, in Latin, and in Greek. So the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate, “Do not write, ‘The King of the Jews,’ but rather, ‘This man said, I am King of the Jews.’” Pilate answered, “What I have written I have written.” When the soldiers had crucified Jesus, they took his garments and divided them into four parts, one part for each soldier; also his tunic. But the tunic was seamless, woven in one […]

  • Day 36: Where Are You From?
Look into the face of your Love, who came to die, to love you to the only life that fulfills. An excerpt from Loved to Life Transcript This is your deepest assurance that you are Loved to Life. Day 36: Where Are You From? Then Pilate took Jesus and had him flogged. The soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns and put it on his head. They clothed him in a purple robe and went up to him again and again, saying, “Hail, king of the Jews!” And they slapped him in the face. Once more Pilate came out and said to the Jews gathered there, “Look, I am bringing him out to you to let you know that I find no basis for a charge against him.” When Jesus came out wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe, Pilate said to them, “Here is the man!” As soon as the chief priests and their officials saw him, they shouted, “Crucify! Crucify!” But Pilate answered, “You take him and crucify him. As for me, I find no basis for a charge against him.” The Jewish leaders insisted, “We have a law, and according to that law he must […]

  • Day 35: The King of Your Heart
“God only calls you to love Him with your whole heart because He knows anything you love more than Him will eventually break your heart in half.” An excerpt from Loved to Life Transcript This is your deepest assurance that you are Loved to Life. Day 35: The King of Your Heart So Pilate came out to them and asked, “What charges are you bringing against this man?” “If he were not a criminal,” they replied, “we would not have handed him over to you.” Pilate said, “Take him yourselves and judge him by your own law.” “But we have no right to execute anyone,” they objected. This took place to fulfill what Jesus had said about the kind of death he was going to die. Pilate then went back inside the palace, summoned Jesus and asked him, “Are you the king of the Jews?” “Is that your own idea,” Jesus asked, “or did others talk to you about me?” “Am I a Jew?” Pilate replied. “Your own people and chief priests handed you over to me. What is it you have done?” Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to […]

  • Day 34: Hope After a Broken Word
“The most transformational life is a long repentance in His direction.” An excerpt from Loved to Life Transcript This is your deepest assurance that you are Loved to Life. Day 34: Hope After a Broken Word “You aren’t one of this man’s disciples too, are you?” she asked Peter. He replied, “I am not.” . . . Meanwhile, Simon Peter was still standing there warming himself. So they asked him, “You aren’t one of his disciples too, are you?” He denied it, saying, “I am not.” One of the high priest’s servants, a relative of the man whose ear Peter had cut off, challenged him, “Didn’t I see you with him in the garden?” Again Peter denied it, and at that moment a rooster began to crow. John 18:17, 25‑27 In the name of the only One who has ever loved you to death and back to the fullest life — in Jesus’ name — Amen.

  • Day 33: Forever Bound to You
“The greatest love story is not just a story; this is actual history.” An excerpt from Loved to Life Transcript This is your deepest assurance that you are Loved to Life. Day 33: Forever Bound to You Then the detachment of soldiers with its commander and the Jewish officials arrested Jesus. They bound him and brought him first to Annas, who was the father-in-law of Caiaphas, the high priest that year. Caiaphas was the one who had advised the Jewish leaders that it would be good if one man died for the people. Simon Peter and another disciple were following Jesus. Because this disciple was known to the high priest, he went with Jesus into the high priest’s courtyard, but Peter had to wait outside at the door. The other disciple, who was known to the high priest, came back, spoke to the servant girl on duty there and brought Peter in. “You aren’t one of this man’s disciples too, are you?” she asked Peter. He replied, “I am not.” It was cold, and the servants and officials stood around a fire they had made to keep warm. Peter also was standing with them, warming himself. Meanwhile, the high priest […]

  • Day 32: Go to God
“The passion of the Lamb of God moved Him to pass through the bloodstained valley for you. Covenant kept. Lamb laid down. Passion poured out. So we could be loved to life.” An excerpt from Loved to Life Transcript This is your deepest assurance that you are Loved to Life. Day 32: Go to God When Jesus had spoken these words, he went out with his disciples across the brook Kidron, where there was a garden, which he and his disciples entered. Now Judas, who betrayed him, also knew the place, for Jesus often met there with his disciples. So Judas, having procured a band of soldiers and some officers from the chief priests and the Pharisees, went there with lanterns and torches and weapons. Then Jesus, knowing all that would happen to him, came forward and said to them, “Whom do you seek?” They answered him, “Jesus of Nazareth.” Jesus said to them, “I am he.” Judas, who betrayed him, was standing with them. When Jesus said to them, “I am he,” they drew back and fell to the ground. So he asked them again, “Whom do you seek?” And they said, “Jesus of Nazareth.” Jesus answered, “I told […]

  • Day 31: The Same Passion
“The One who breathed the stars into existence breathes prayers for you; the One whose words spoke the world into being uses priceless words over your being; the One who made time, lives beyond time, controls all of time, uses all of His time to pray for you—because you are priceless to Him.” An excerpt from Loved to Life Transcript This is your deepest assurance that you are Loved to Life. Day 31: The Same Passion “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one—I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and […]
