Well, we have arrived at the last psalm, Psalm, 150 and it has been a long journey through this book, but hopefully it's been a spiritually profitable journey through the book of Psalms. I know for me, God has taught me many things as I studied this book of Psalms. We began it in the summer of 2020 at the height of the corona time, and now we have passed through that God is faithful, and we are now approaching another chapter in our lives. What is God going to do in the near future? How is God going to bring things into his order?

Again, the psalm that we're going to be studying, Psalm 149 is a psalm about worship. Fact, many of the last few Psalms dealt just with that subject, worshiping God, praising God and giving thanks to God. And let me simply say that when we look at the word of God, whether it's in the Old Covenant or New Covenant, whether it's the law of Moses, whether it's prophecy, whether it's an epistle or a gospel, we need to honor the Word of God by translating it properly and not taking liberties with the text that we ought not because the word of God is inspired by the Holy Spirit, and it's only when we receive the Word of God as the Spirit inspired the Word of God to be then we can see God's order coming into our life, that we can understand His truth and we can respond to it.

God has created humanity in order that we might worship Him. And when we study biblically worship, we see that there are many different things that go into worshiping God, our love of God, our faith in God, our gratitude to God and a hope in the promises of God. And when we look at God, we find that he is worthy of worship because of who he is.

The book of Psalms is called, in Hebrew, the book of praises. And of course, the word praise relates to worship, but we need to understand something when we deal with biblical worship, a very important part of that is sacrifice worship according to Scripture, involves sacrifice that is giving. And I'm not just talking about giving money, but giving of your very self, being willing to lay down your life and everything that your life consists of, being willing to utilize that for the purposes of God. So worship is surrender.

The easiest way to discuss this psalm is to be told that this psalm is all about worship. It is a broad invitation to all of creation to worship God. And the key word here is the word praise. Now praising God means that you acknowledge both who he is and what He has done, and you extol him as Lord over all, recognizing that he is sovereign.

Again, we find ourselves within the book of Proverbs. And again, Proverbs revealed to us biblical truth that should govern our life and rule our life. We see in our chapter today that God is giving us his perspective, so again, that we can act in this world wisely, that we can demonstrate our knowledge of God, that we can behave in a way that shows that we're not like the world, but that we have been brought out of this world and into his marvelous light, and that light should guide us, that light is a light of illumination so we see things differently and that we can choose wisely.

We are called to demonstrate the truth in our life. We are called to take wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and implement it into every aspect of our being. That, as I said, we have a witness, a testimony that lines up with who we are in Messiah, that we are the saints of God. Take out your Bible and look with me to the book of Proverbs and chapter 27

When you find yourself in a position of leadership, that position may require you to do things that are not easy for you to do that all comes with being a leader. A leader is called to make difficult decisions, not being influenced by the people, but being influenced by what is right and proper and good according to truth.

Today in our study, we are going to see a transition, a transition away from the Sanhedrin unto Pontius Pilate and also to Herod. And the important thing to remember about this passage is that it's all taking place on Passover. Now, Passover is one of the most important festivals for all of Israel, and the main thing that is done at any festival is a sacrifice is made, and it was the priests, especially the high priests that were called to officiate and to make sure that everything that was done at the temple in regard to the sacrifice was done correctly.

One of the most important questions that every person has to answer is this, who is Yeshua from Nazareth? And of course, we're speaking about the Son of God, also called Emmanuel. We're speaking about the Messiah. Who is he?
