Following up on the study cited above, Annie Holmquist offers some powerful historical perspective that shows how we might have avoided this decline in happiness.

Earlier this week there was a remarkable debate that took place. No, it wasn't between political candidates. It was a debate over homeschooling and Kerry McDonald was a magnificent defender of the right to educate your own kids.

Did you realize that the good guys are winning? I refer to the folks at the American Institute for Economic Research and their efforts to persuade the world that the lockdowns were a terrible idea that ought not be repeated. They deserve accolades for their principled efforts.

Police have long used the "broken windows theory" to justify crackdowns on even the minor offenses to demonstrate that bigger ones won't fly either. Connor Friedersdorf asks, why not apply that same approach to police misconduct?
