In this episode of Loving On Purpose Presents: Culture of Honor, we’re diving into Chapter 2 “The Funnel From Heaven,” and unpacking one of the more provocative ideas in the book: the fivefold ministry. We talk about apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers, why each gift matters, and what can happen when we build church culture around one gift while minimizing or removing the others.
We also get into what it actually looks like when heaven becomes the source instead of human control, fear, or self-preservation. I share some of what we experienced through years of ministry around Bethel, how different leaders brought different strengths to the table, and why a healthy culture doesn’t require everyone to see things the same way. Honor means recognizing the way God has designed you while also making room for the perspective and anointing He has placed on someone else.
As you listen, I want you to consider two questions: What fivefold gift do you naturally carry, and whose different gift do you need to make more room for? The goal isn’t hierarchy, titles, or figuring out who is most important. It’s the maturing of the body of Christ so that every gift can function together and heaven can flow through the whole body the way God intended.

How we started: In 1984, Danny and Sheri were married. The challenges began almost immediately. They both came from broken families. And they didn’t realize it until 12 years into marriage, but they were considered clinically incompatible. Suffice it to say – they had their fair share of obstacles to overcome.
But instead of letting that define them, they turned their struggle into a story they’ve been sharing for over 20 years. Their struggle is your victory.
They founded Loving On Purpose to teach you what they’ve learned – how to find hope, connection, and become a powerful person.
Our Mission: To Equip Families With The Tools And Resources Needed To Build Connected, Loving Relationships. When families thrive, communities thrive – and ultimately, the world thrives.
Our 50-year vision is to surpass Disney as the chief influencer of families across the world. Yeah, we know. It’s ambitious, but so is every big goal until it’s achieved. We’re convinced this is God’s idea.
Loving On Purpose is working to become the go-to resource for families who want to build connected, loving relationships. We want to see a world where Christ-likeness is the goal of every family member. Join us as we help create whole, healthy families across the world.
