Low Frequency

Chicago is one of the founding cities of electronic music. No wonder you can find good Dj’s over there. Tom Kaos is one of them. Maybe you don’t him yet, but luckily this will change within the coming hour. Tom is not afraid of blending different styles together. That’s what makes sets surprising and I love it. So it’s my great pleasure to introduce Tom Kaos with an exclusive mix.

Do I have to say that I like uplifting techno? The energy that comes out of these rhythms can be so overwhelming, in a positive way. The baseline of this mix is that energetic rhythm combined with drones, flavours of acid, great soundscapes and everything that makes techno music techno how it should be.

Time for dark techno. Today's guest is Keykan. Keykan is a Berlin-based techno enthusiast who is inspired by the Berlin club scene. He likes to explore the dark depths of techno and industrial music. This is well reflected in the mix he wanted to share with is. I’m sure you will like it as much as I do.

Selecting music for me is finding a balance between a dark vibe combined with beautiful sounds. These sounds can be very melodic but also hypnotic soundscapes. A mix should be surprising so every minute within the set should feel fresh, a feeling of something unexpected. That is what you would hear in the next hour.

Again I’m very excited to present you a great set. For today's episode I present you JLTZ, with a recording of his live set he played at Disconnekt.

JLTZ has always been intrigued by music since boyhood, first starting with hip hop and then moving on to electronic music. Music has always been an inspiration which influences his thoughts and actions.

The infinite passion and determined research of new sounds have driven him to the world of techno. It was a small step to start producing his own songs. His sound is characterized by dark and introspective settings. The accurate sound design highlights his productions and makes it clearly recognisable. No surprise I’m very happy I can give you a one hour live set of JLTZ.

In the DJ scene you still find more men than women. So it can not be a surprise I am always very happy when I can introduce a female DJ. Ceymi.Ann is born and raised in Flensburg, Germany. Music has always been a big part of her life and along the way she became very interested in electronic music.

In 2013 Ceymi.Ann started DJing. She likes the dark and melancholic side in Techno music. So you will hear this reflected in her mixes.

About a year ago she started producing her own songs. I am really looking forward to hear first her releases!

For me DJing is always trying to balance between two worlds. On the one side, I look for raw energy and explosive power with repetitive rhythms. On the other side I try to add subtle build-ups, with sound textures and warm sounds.
