Low Self-Worth Versus Low Self-Esteem - Part 2

Listen Later

Is self-worth and self-esteem the same?  Dr BB explains some mental health practitioners believe they are the same, and use them interchangeably.   However, Dr BB thinks differently: She agrees both self-worth and self-esteem play a crucial role in an individual's mental and emotional well-being, however, there are important key differences between the two.

Self-esteem is the subjective evaluation of one's own worthiness and value as a person based on external factors.  Self-worth is a more global and stable form of self-esteem that comes from within, knowing and believing in one's worth as a person.

Both can have significant implications for mental health, relationships, and overall life satisfaction. Come join Dr BB to learn more about the development of low self-esteem versus low self-worth, its psychological underpinnings, and practical strategies for fostering a healthier sense of self.
