Tune into this episode to learn all about Hickory’s Sails Original Music Series, which takes place in Downtown Hickory on Union Square. Hear the process that goes into the event before bands hit the stage. Additionally, hear this year’s lineup of artists.
A new feature to the series is a college night for LR students. Dana Kaminske and Bob Sinclair are special guests for this episode. Kaminske is the Communications and Marketing Manager for the City of Hickory. Sinclair is the City’s contracted coordinator of the series.
This episode features an LR alumni as well as an Ole Miss and what and how LR has impacted them as well as what it means to be an alumni and how they can give back one day.

Host Amber McKnight, along with guess Jennifer Drum from the LRU Counseling Services, discusses various stressors that college students at LR face. Topics such as money, and anxiety to making good grades are highlighted. Drum also discusses various things she does to handle stress and how stress is so common among college students.
Join host, Wayne Burton and his guest, Sarah Wood, manager of Downtown Hickory Farmers Market as they discuss what the market entails in an effort to encourage L-R students to frequent the Downtown Hickory Farmers Market. Types of produce, foods, and other products are addressed with a focus on the benefits of buying/consuming local. Interviews with some of the vendors and customers of the market will also be on the show to give listeners a more personal feel for the market and its participants.
