Loving that Cold Fury boy!

I've been looking forward so much to this 8th Cold Fury story! We have a new player, Lucas (who is previous book Max's brother) and our heroine is Stephanie, a natural history curator. They meet at a fundraiser for the museum where he's there representing the hockey franchise. After meeting they go out for drinks and end up having wild sex at her apartment, where they discover the condom broke! Guess who has to make a decision about whether he will be part of his child's life or not? Not to mention, she never even saw herself having kids. The story is entertaining and the narration was perfect! Loved it.

Not my Favorite Cold Fury books

I love Hockey romances and I have actually read the first five books out of the series on my kindle. So it has been fun for me to listen to the newer books on audio. Unfortunately, this book was a bit of a disappointment for me.

Lately, I have ran across books that have completely resistant female characters that made it hard for me to hope the male character gets his happy ending. This was the case with the Stephanie's character. Her obsinate and cold personality starts to turn me off. I generally have to see some progression that the hero/heroine wants to fall in love. It does not have to be immediate, but there has to be progress. Rather than a character that continues to whine, runs away, but returns at the very end to profess their love to their lover. I felt that Stephanies character just came across whiny and too cold hearted. I have to admit, I was worried for the baby to get stuck with such cold hearted mother. This actually came up in the book, when Lucus almost gives up on her. At this point of the story, I kept thinkng...walk away Lucus and I could not figure out why anyone would want to get saddled with this type of person. Fortunately, this is all make believe, so mentally, I could stick with the story. I know that the current trend is for the heroines to be the tough as nails type of personality, but I believe you can cross the line and make these types of Characters to cold and unlikable. This is what I feel happted with this book.

As for the narrators, 5 stars for Joe Arden as Lucas (He is one of my favorites).
