I think maybe we sugarcoat things sometimes on the show about how AMAZING it is to Live Hawaii…it is…don’t get us wrong…but the Reality is when we speak “HAWAII” we are usually talking about the island of OAHU, because we live here…but sometimes we do talk HAWAII in general as in all the islands…However, when it comes to Oahu, and we have been saying it for a while now, the island of OAHU has TODAY BECOME a Rich Man’s PARADISE…So everyone thinking of moving to Hawaii needs a “WAKE UP CALL” and “SLAP IN THE FACE” on what will be best for you! The Island of OAHU may NO LONGER be an VIABLE OPTION for you and your family. You may need to look at the other islands where it’s more affordable and the MANA and ALOHA is still alive and well.

Hawaii…the most beautiful place on Earth…Yet…one of the most expensive.

Today we sit with an AMAZING couple fighting for that dream…and we learn a thing or two about their culture as well. Asif and Gul have been to Hawaii many times and have visited many of the islands…but this time on vacation they sat down with us to share their Hawaii story…It’s also the first time they actually are taking the time to look around and image what it would be like living in Hawaii…There are some things they love, but also some things they don’t and their move also conerns their child who has some medical issues…Today we discuss those things and get closer to figuring out if Moving to Hawaii is a Good idea for them as their child comes first…Will moving to Hawaii be a good idea for you? SUMMER BREAK IS OVER…We are BACK!

We have a lot of catching up to do and get to some comments…Today we touch on some serious news and it’s not really positive so you all have been warned! We have a SERIOUS ISSUE here on Oahu and Wayde has been talking about it for a long time…RAIL and the Road to No WHERE! We talk about doing a Waterfall Tour or one of our Circle island or half day island Jeep Tours. We also talk about the food and getting out on a Tour with Lanai to hit up all the great food stops around the island…One of the best things about Oahu and Hawaii is the food! We talk about Snorkeling at Hanauma Bay, hiking the ridge of Hanauma and hitting up the Kona Brewing Comany for some great Beers and Pizza! We also discuss Shopping in HAWAII at the Aloha Stadium Swap meet and heading to the North Shore to check out the shopping and great surf spots there. You only have 7 days so you need to make the most of them!

Moving to the islands of Hawaii isn’t easy…it’s hard! It’s hard to move here with friends and even if you know someone here already…BUT to move here alone and with NO SUPPORT SYSTEM at all…IT’S DAMN NEAR IMPOSSIBLE!

We have never done a show on what it’s like to be in the Military here in Hawaii…Lucky for us we finally got someone in who has been all over the world and stationed in many places including Hawaii. Of all the places our Military guest ANTHONY has been…Hawaii is his favorite and it’s a place he is working to now to day to move for good once he gets out of the military in his last year in Japan. We discuss what it’s like making a big move and what he likes about Hawaii and the pluses and minuses of living abroad.

 

Why do people always return to Hawaii? It’s never just once…most people who come to Hawaii for vacation either move here or vacation here again and again…Hawaii leaves an impression on people…The aina, the mana…there is something here people can’t let go of…perhaps it’s the Aloha way.
