10 “The one who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and the one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much. 11 If then you haven’t been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will entrust you with the true riches? 12 And if you haven’t been trustworthy with someone else’s property, who will give you your own? 13 No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.”

This passage today warns us that if we are not faithful in this life with the things of this world and the riches we have been given, then we will not be entrusted with the true riches promised to us in heaven. Jesus challenges us to use our finances, money, possessions for the greater good – not for ourselves and our own comforts, but to use them for the gospel.
This is something very hard for us to do. In fact, we will only use our resources for the gospel if we see the gospel as worth so much more than our worldly possessions.
Pray now and ask God to help us see what truly matters in this life, and to value the gospel and know its true worth. Ask God to help us see that Jesus is so good that He is worth giving up our worldly possessions for.
