Luke 1:76–77, 79 and Luke 2:10–14 proclaim that God is breaking into the world with salvation, light, and peace. John the Baptist is appointed to prepare the way, announcing forgiveness and guiding God’s people out of darkness, while the angels declare that this saving work arrives in the birth of Jesus Himself.
