There are not many Bible accounts of Jesus as a child.
In chapter 2 of his gospel, Luke chooses to share the account of the birth of Jesus. Jesus presented at the temple when he was 40 days-old and Jesus visiting the temple for Passover when he is 12.
That's it. Three accounts from birth to age 30. But even calling Jesus a boy at age 12 is a bit of a misnomer because it was at this age that a Jewish boy would make the leap from being a child to a young man.
Even from a young age Jesus knew the purpose for his life. He was coming to be the Savior of the world. He was doing his Father's work.
This week at CrossWalk Church in Phoenix we will continue Investigating Jesus; in Luke 2:22-52 we will focus on two temple visits made by Jesus and his family.
When we clearly understand the purpose of Jesus' life, the purpose of our lives will come into a more clear focus. Like Jesus, we want to be doing our Father's work.
Consider how a focus on God's purpose for your life can bring new direction and meaning.
