Luke 22:24-46 - The Last Evening of Jesus' Life | 10.20.24 Weekend Message

Listen Later

On the last night of Jesus' life he stood on a hilltop near the city of Jerusalem and warned his disciples, "Pray that you will not fall into temptation."

What temptation do you think he was worried they would fall into?
They might have been tempted to doubt that Jesus loved them. After all, every single one of them would run away from Jesus. Peter would even deny him. If I abandon Jesus, will he stop loving me?
They also might have been tempted to doubt God's power. In the upcoming hours they would see Jesus arrested, beaten, condemned, crucified, dead and buried. How can God save me if he couldn't save Jesus?
Satan still likes to use difficult days and painful event to tempt us to doubt the truth about God and his great love for us.
This weekend at CrossWalk Church, we follow Jesus and his disciples to a hilltop vineyard outside the city of Jerusalem.
This evening Jesus would spend with his disciples would be his last. It was a difficult and painful day for everyone involved. And those worst days of our lives present difficult temptations for which we want to be ready.
Discover the tools Jesus gives you to fight temptation during your most difficult days.
