In Luke 3:7 we are told that crowds of people went out to John the Baptist in the wilderness. When they got there, he called them a "brood of vipers."
Why would these people travel miles into the desert to hear someone insult them and tell them that they were sinners?
John told them the truth.
He was honest about the sin issue that all people have. He was honest about God's love and forgiveness.
John's message was a call to repentance. That word literally means to "change your mind" about sin. Stop thinking about excuses for sin or minimizing sin and start seeing sin and grace from God's perspective.
This week at CrossWalk Church, we'll continue Investigating Jesus as we walk through the gospel of Luke and we'll take a look at the ministry and message of John the Baptist.
Like every week at CrossWalk we will face the facts about sin and God's solution that is found in Jesus. Join us as we listen to God's message that is strong in truth and strong in grace. It's how God changes your mind and heart and life.
