In 2020 Ancestry.com was sold for 4.7 billion dollars.
More than ever, individuals want to know where they come from. Some adopted individuals use the ancestry service to try to find their parents. Others are curious about their ethnicity or their family of origin.
How about you? Are you interested in your genealogy?
Jesus is especially interesting because he really has two genealogies.
At his baptism in Luke 3:22 God the Father said, "Your are my Son whom I love, with him I am well pleased." So Jesus is the Son of God.
But Luke finishes chapter 3 with a human genealogy of Jesus. So Jesus is also a human being.
This weekend at CrossWalk Church, we'll continue Investigating Jesus as we walk through the gospel of Luke and take a look at both Jesus' baptism and genealogy. Come to understand how the baptism and genealogy of Jesus can help you discover who you truly are.
