Recently, math lovers throughout the world celebrated "pi day" on 3/14. In solidarity with the mathematical community, I celebrated "pie day" (or at least I wished I would have had a piece of blueberry pie!) :)

I remember learning about "pi" in high school. My high school math teacher taught me that this number is important and is used for practical purposes. There's even an article entitled Real Life Application of Pi. But, I'll be honest. I've never put it into practice in my daily life (Sorry Mr. Plath! ).

No doubt, I've benefited from it without knowing it, but I haven't used it to make a practical difference in my life or the lives of others.

What about Jesus' teachings? What about God's mercy?

Are those things we simply learn about from a Book, or can they make a practical difference in real life?

This week at CrossWalk Church, we will continue Investigating Jesus as we walk through the gospel of Luke. This week we will see how Jesus and others put his words into practice--and how the mercy of God made a practical difference in the lives of real people.

Here's what Luke writes: They were all filled with awe and praised God. "A great prophet has appeared among us," they said. "God has come to help his people."
