  • Good-guy glands
Fucked up nights sleep from falling asleep while reading and then waking up in the early hours of morning with the lamp on and stuff on my bed, and yesterdays podcast not recorded. Not a good feeling at all. Up early after that. Heard the baby out in the living room. Itโ€™s easy to get out of bed when thereโ€™s a super cute baby around. Mostly sat around the house and did laundry all day, between plays with baby [REDACTED]. Nice warm day. Exercised my nice-guy glands by ordering some food delivery for an acquaintance who has taken unwell with Covid. Listened to the judgeโ€™s sentencing remarks from the jussie Smollett case. Sheer poetry. Manna from heaven. Catnip to a centrist. Devilishly delightful. Mwaah..! The final ep of the podcast series Wild Boys made me realise that Iโ€™d like to live forever. Actual immortality. I guess I hadnโ€™t thought of that as an option before! Early night. M: 6. E: 6. ๐Ÿ˜‡ ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Took First Step in Life Event (Not Telling What)
Slept terribly! Had sweats through the night. Got up early, showered, and then just-resting-my-eyes became a deep slumber. Then I was groggy when I got up proper come 9 AM. Work. Bad.
Installed the new iOS. I saw a read a few article about new features and some new apps which I downloaded and am looking forward to playing with. Iโ€™m feeling grateful for apps and the apple commentary community. And grateful for Apple and their stellar work. Which I think is vastly under appreciated by the vast majority of people. Those unthinking dolts. I was thinking about how much of a frenzy the Apple blogosphere would have gone into over the dynamic island or a bunch of other more stuff back when. Those were the days!
It boils my piss that people are so very unaware of the work that goes into a new iPhone each year. Even if the hardware superficially looks similar on the outside, the inside is redesigned, reengineered. Logistics, legal, manufacturing - and on and on. There is so much that is redone every 22 month, like clockwork, at unimaginable scale. To me, itโ€™s genuinely almost miraculous that they can do this. But to the 99.999% - I suppose they think that the OEMs simply shrink or stretch the screen and case a bit each year and thatโ€™s it. People really are unthinking. Most people probably arenโ€™t proud of Apple for what theyโ€™re able to do. I certainly am. Blow away proud. Iโ€™m humble enough to laugh along when people dunk on me for my Apple fandom, but I low key find it sad. Sad because, though they donโ€™t know it, theyโ€™re really teasing me for happening to be brought up to have a scintilla of empathy - enough that my heart goes out to all those people who put so much efffort into each new iPhone. Iโ€™m thankful. So sue me. Thank you, Apple!
I have a secret. I made the first step on a very consequential journey today. As in - this is a Life Event. And nobody knows but me. And I ainโ€™t telling!
Worked on straightening up in my room. Cleaning out some storage. Some wild photos and letters. Clearing out some junk. Time got away on me. Oops. Snacks.
