#11 - PEOPLE WHO NEED PEOPLE. Leaders are people who need to serve other people. You need people. Becoming a leader is a long journey, and there are always more things to learn - about working with others, and about yourself.
#10 - THREE BONES. Reba McEntire wrote, "To succeed in life you need three bones: a wishbone, a backbone, and a funnybone." You certainly need those three bones in life, and you need them all the more to succeed as a leader.
#09 - POSITIVITY - the positive energy you radiate to others. It's a way of thinking and a way of being. It's a way to choose the quality of your life, rather than feel you are at the mercy of fate. And you have to want it and work to develop it.
#08 - CHALLENGES OF CHANGE. One of the greatest tests of your leadership abilities will be how you, as a leader serving others, will help manage change.
#07 - HERDING CATS. YOU, as a servant leader, must build a winning ministry team of good people who can work well together. Assembling those people into a well-functioning team can seem as difficult as Herding Cats.
#05 - LISTEN, LISTEN, LISTEN. Listening is such an essential part of being a good leader. You can learn so much by listening, REALLY listening.
#06 - SMART GOALS really help everyone know specifically what the goal is and when and how that goal will be accomplished. SMART Goals are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Timely.
