Intro Music🎵 The Rockford Tone - https://youtube.com/channel/UCSe7sRNzRISqdAwD0UCsyAgWelcome to Lunch Break Leadership Episode 008, The Leadership “Diet”. In this episode I will talk about why leadership diets do not work! This will be a little bit different episode so I hope you enjoy it!
Main Idea & Content🎤The idea of a Leadership “Diet” came to me while driving to work one morning. I started thinking of how many of us have listened to a podcast, read a book, or attended a seminar on leadership and have been introduced to the latest and greatest methods of leading people. The reason I have chosen this topic and compare it to the latest fad diets - is that they are more similar than you may think.
Call to Action/Next Steps🎯Through comparing leadership methods to fad diets - I hope I have caused you to think differently about leadership and the methods used to manage people, processes, and performance. There is no one way to effective leadership, it’s a process that takes time and applying what you learn to see what methods work best. I encourage you to learn and apply as many ways to lead as you can - holding tight to the methods that work for you in your situation! You’ve got this! I believe in you, and I know you will accomplish many great things as you travel on the leadership highway! Until next time - I encourage you to keep learning and sharpening your leadership skills to be better tomorrow than you were today!

Episode Summary🎤Welcome to Lunch Break Leadership Episode 007, Remembering Why You Were Promoted. In this episode let’s take a moment to reflect back on why you were promoted and how to use those attributes to influence others and create a lasting culture of performance excellence.
Main Idea & Content🎤By now you are probably knee deep in the middle of managing a team of people, implementing processes, and measuring performance. With all of the hustle and bustle things can get cloudy and sometimes you forget the basics. In this episode I want you to recall all of the reasons why you were promoted, and what sets you apart from others leaders in your organization. Recalling “the why” is a good exercise to do every so often to keep you grounded. Also, by taking a personal inventory of yourself and asking these questions you will keep your eye on the ball so to speak. By taking the time to self evaluate and reflect on what is working and what needs work can affect your team in a big way.
Call to Action/Next Steps🎯I hope this episode has caused you to reflect back on the characteristics that set you apart and helped you get promoted. Reflect back on your journey and what set you apart to be recognised as a leader. Now look at your current team, who is it that works for you that is demonstrating leadership characteristics? What can you do to help grow them into the next generation of leaders?
Closing & Final Thoughts🎤Until next time - I encourage you to keep learning and sharpening your leadership skills to be better tomorrow than you were today! Thank you for listening to Lunch Break Leadership!

Episode Summary🎤Welcome to Lunch Break Leadership Episode 005. In this episode we will talk about writing things down and why it’s important! I have made many references to this method of organizing your tasks and keeping track of your results in previous episodes. So let’s jump right in!
Main Idea & Content🎤Anyone can benefit from writing things down, however the more responsibilities you have and the more employees you are managing the more you will want to utilize this skill. I call it a skill because it is something that is learned, most people are not naturally inclined to keep notes or a journal of some kind. Most believe they can retain and remember things without taking the time to write it down. This is not a chance I would suggest taking, especially early on in your leadership career. You will have so many tasks and items being thrown your way it will be impossible to capture them all in your memory.
Call to Action/Next Steps🎯I hope by listening to this episode of LBL you now have a better understanding on why it’s important to take notes and write things down! Remember it’s a tool, do not allow it to be a distraction. You still have to produce results, so why not be better prepared by using this method and making it work for you! Try it and let me know how your work world is changed by doing so. I want to hear from you - I’d love to know how this podcast is changing the way you think of leadership and the methods you are using as a result of listening to this show.
