In this episode, Dr. Paul Wheatley-Price sits down with Dr Rosalyn Juergens, Medical Oncologist at the Juravinski Cancer Center in Hamilton, ON and Chair of LCC's Medical Advisory Committee. Dr. Juergens is one of the winners of the Quality Improvement Grant aimed at elevating the care and outcomes of Canadians living with metastatic NSCLC. She chats about her ambitious research proposal focusing on opportunities for liquid vs. solid tissue biopsies in community hospitals in Central-West Ontario, and the inequities and barriers that patients in rural communities face in healthcare and in turn leading to delayed diagnosis. The grant is offered in collaboration between Lung Cancer Canada, the Lung Health Foundation, the Quebec Lung Association, and Pfizer Canada, with up to $200,000 to be awarded.
