Well it's finally happened...Trump has contracted coronavirus. After lying about it and saying it would be gone by April and not providing any support for regular citizens to stop the spread of the virus and just not wearing a damned mask and encouraging others to make mask-wearing a point of "patriotism." What happens now? Some thoughts...and maybe some laughs...and some marching orders, as always.

Fascism has always been a part of the American Experience for some of us. Declaring the teaching of that history racist only serves to cover up the everyday fascism that people think doesn't exist.

Oh...it was hilarious and horrible and you shouldn't have been surprised at any of it.

Did the candidates talk about this in the debate? Were there answers to address these issues? Did you expect any? Don't. Because politicians who benefit from the system as it exists will never call to dismantle that system. But the problem IS the system, more than it is the people who uphold it.

People began idolizing Ruth Bader Ginsberg a few years ago when someone told the them the Supreme Court had some importance, but trying to make her a progressive hero doesn't erase some of her most harmful decisions and opinions, and it doesn't erase the gross malfeasance of the Democrats strategy regarding judicial appointments.

Democrats sue to remove Green Party candidates from ballots in Wisconsin and Texas, calculating they can win by denying voters the right to choose the candidate they want. But will this political calculus work out for them in November, and what will it produce for the Dems in the long term?

Black people have been looking for a safe space to just be in this country ever since we've been here; but for some reason, the same people who don't want to live around us and don't want us living around them, also don't want to let us have our own spaces. But we keep trying to create safe spaces for ourselves in the piece anyway. And we won't stop until we achieve them!
