Another week into the Season of Legends and the events are still rolling in. As we wrap up the Searching For Legends Event, we have a few single day events to recap including the highly debated Incense Day. While this event did feel a bit bland, we discuss our thoughts on what could be done to spice things up.

We also cover the single hour events from the week like Incarnate Forme Thundurus Raid Hour, Voltorb Spotlight Hour, Therian Forme Thundurus Raid Hour, and finally Mega Raid Hour! All of this action is happening while the Charge Up Event is taking place. There was clearly a ton to do this week.

Niantic also announced two international events that think a bit outside of the box. A small business initiative in Japan and a Wayfarer Event in India bring in the human element to the game, and show the power that the community can have both socially and economically.

We wrap things up with a preview of Weather Week, which brings another wave of comprehensive event features. Including spawns, eggs, raids, and research, we have quite a bit to look forward to. Oh, and a new shiny Pokémon is always exciting too!

With the Season of Legends in full swing, Trainers have been very positive on the game despite some controversy surrounding last week's Kanto Tour Bonus Event. From an exciting spawn pool, to exceptionally well balanced events, March is shaping up to be a fantastic month. We begin with a recap of last week’s gameplay, including Fletchling Community Day, Drowzee Spotlight Hout, and the Team GO Rocket Balloon Bonus Hour.

As we dig into the Searching for Legends event, we can’t help but appreciate how the evolved forms of Pokémon have stuck around and pepper in with event spawns. This keeps the gameplay exciting, even when we are not catching the featured event Pokémon. We also have details on two events that Niantic had previously teased. First, the Psychic and Steel Incense Day featuring Beldum and second the Charge Up Event featuring Therian Forme Thundurus. 

We wrap things up with discussing the new Referral program that is coming to the game, which will earn trainers and their referrals some sweet rewards including encounters. Finally, we break into a Raid Guide and Battle Party for Therian Forme Thundurus, which will be here before we know it!

This has been an amazing time to be a Pokémon GO Trainer. From the leadup of events to the Kanto Tour, to the rotation into the Season of Legends, the game has kept us busy and asking for more. We start off by digging into the latest Giovanni research, The Higher They Fly and how we are getting our hands on the Shadow Legendary Birds once again. Per usual, Ken knocked out the Research right away, while Adam is still looking to get through step one!

The Season of Legends will have a packed month of events, but this first week is all about the organic spawns. Tons of evolved forms and some familiar faces make a return. We never thought we would be so happy to see a Rattata! The spawn discussion brings us to Searching For Legends. While the event spawns may not be too exciting, we both want to get our hands on a Shiny Nosepass.

In a surprise announcement, we learn that Professor Willow will be making an appearance in the TCG later this year! While we don’t have many details yet, we both predict what this card will do at retail if that is in fact how it is released!

Finally we discuss the Kanto Tour Bonus Event and the stir that it has caused in the community. From the value of a ticket, to items that we don’t necessarily need, this event may not be much of an event after all. The one thing that will be dearly missed from this event is the Pokémon, with the blog making no mention of spawns or research encounters. We Poke The Bear to see what the community has to say, and as expected, we see the good and the bad.

With the Kanto Tour behind us, there is plenty to talk about! We start things off with a recap of the event and share our experiences from the day. We also hone in on a few talking points on the event including a few marketing decisions that made the community a bit concerned! We revisit those feelings during Poke The Bear, but for now it was all about the amazing Kanto Tour.

You may have thought things would be slowing down but that doesn’t seem to be the case! With the announcement of the Season Of Legends, there is plenty to review from the shakeup of spawns and eggs, but also an expanded hemispherical spawn pool and a Candy XL rework. There is plenty to be excited for as we head into March.

Niantic has shared their March event structure which brings back Spotlights and Raid Hours, but also adds a Thursday Bonus Hour. This is in addition to a handful of stand alone events coming including Incense Day and a Special Raid Day. We will be exceptionally busy all month long.

We wrap things up with a Poke The Bear segment that focuses on Event Transparency. With a lot of announcements about the Kanto Tour coming in the 11th hour, paired with some unclear info and even unmarked edits to their FAQ page, there are a few different things here that have made Trainers hope for more when it comes to the release of Event info.

In our final week before the Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto, we dig in to last week’s events including the Lunar New Year Event and the Valentine’s Day 2021 Event. These events were a refreshing change from the Regional Celebration events that we have been accustomed to over the last few weeks. 

In addition to the Kanto Celebration Event that we discussed last week, we also had the announcement of the Kanto Raid Day coming at the end of the month featuring the Kanto Birds and the return of Giovanni. This event is a bit strange as while it is a Raid event, it also has a Team GO Rocket element including the opportunity to TM away Frustration from Shadow Pokémon. As we look forward to March, we have our first Community Day announced with Fletchling! 

We wrap up our episode with a Poke The Bear segment looking at the current feeling of event burn out within the community. While some enjoy the onslaught, we can all agree that the pacing of the game has been nuts, and leaves little to the imagination when it comes to the future. Is this just our new norm? As we get one week closer to the Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto event, the event schedule remains relentless. With player burn out once again becoming a talking point, it will be interesting to see how the game takes shape as we approach the end of Season 1. We recap the events of last week and dig right in to the Lunar New Year Event, which was a nice combination of spawns and features. Before we knew it, Roselia Community Day was here, and the next week of Spotlights and Raid Hours was among us.

The annual Valentine’s Day event is back and is filled with friendship and love. Our month filled with February events is off to the races and there is plenty to cover this week. As the Johto Celebration wraps up, we discuss our feelings on the Miltank hunt as well as how the Timed Research was all about Team GO Rocket, rather than Johto. This leads us directly into the Team GO Rocket Celebration which is keeping us very busy hunting down Grunts and Leaders, however leaves us wanting more from the Timed Research. We are also wondering where Giovanni has been!

The Lunar New Year Event is shaping up to be very exciting as the event touches on just about every area of the game. We will see a Timed Research featuring Tauros that will give global players an opportunity to catch the North American regional exclusive. 

Pokeminers have put out an APK teardown of 0.199.0 which has a lot of exciting bits of code to speculate about. They found new music, moves, quality of life improvements as well as an update to the friend and invite system. We are excited to see if and how these features roll out.

We wrap up with a different type of Poke The Bear, asking the community what they would change in the game if it was up to them. We received a ton of responses that were diverse and creative! Let’s keep the conversation going throughout the week! What would you change about the game?

It has been another busy week in the world of Pokémon GO as we continue to prep for the Kanto: Tour! We recap our time with the Hoenn Celebration and discuss how the Collection Challenge seemed a bit easier this time around. Last weekend brought us the Mareep Incense Day which felt a bit lackluster, but gave us all the Pokémon we needed to complete the challenge.

As we moved into the Johto Celebration, things became a bit more fun with the addition of Timed Research leading to an encounter with Ho-Oh. The Team GO Rocket based tasks were a challenge as they required a significant amount of battling to complete. While it felt like they finally nailed the formula, as this wraps up we are now left to wait for the Tour to arrive.

Continuing with the Team GO Rocket fun, they get into the celebration with an upcoming event. This will be a great time to work on the level 45 requirements. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to TM away frustration during the event, so we will have to hold onto that move a bit longer. To keep us busy this past weekend, we had a Sneasel Special Research Day which was giving out Shinies to everyone. Finally, we wrap up with some listener emails that ask some great questions and trigger an awesome conversation.
