1.embarrassed, insulted 2.in the open market, publicly 3.pleasure 4.words, speech, verse 5.word of 6.truth 7.on the gallows
This Ghazal/nazm is linked to a collection under ‘to Ghazal hoti hai’ on the Refrain Index page in which shu’ara describe the emotions or thoughts that lead them to compose Ghazal. ali sardar jafri is doing the same here, except he calls it lutf-e suKhan. In the first misra, it is not clear who is embarrassed/insulted; it is left ambiguous. It could be the poet himself, or it could be misleading/manipulative leadership. If he is embarrassed or insulted or feels remorse (about some public wrong) then he writes verse. In order to embarrass manipulative leadership he writes verse. When the word of truth is sent to the gallows then he writes verse.
1.ours, friends 2.others, rivals 3.truth 4.ready to, willing to 5.kill 6.partisan
When friend and foe is ready to kill for speaking out truth, and when there is no partisan on your side, then there is pleasure in writing verse.

When the hidden agenda of the time teaches you to acquiesce, but your heart has the courage to deny, then there is pleasure in writing verse.
1.oppression 2.fear 3.death 4.silence 5.word 6.awake, alert, loud and clear
When everyone is silent in the face of oppression, fear and death; when my every word is loud and clear, then there is pleasure in writing verse.
