The Securing of Egypt ahead of WW2 and the reality of Young Soldiers. Papa was a young boy sent over on the third and last exercise in Egypt to turn it from what was deemed an ‘immovable farce’ to that which would go on to destroy the ambitions of further forces in the time of huge vulnerability in the country 1940-1941. According to veterans of ww2, Egypt stabilization was essential and without the securing of Egypt pre world war 2, a very different outcome may have ensued as it was open to attack and take over.
We also look at the reality of boy soldiers from all sides in World War Two. The youngest (found on record) was a nazi soldier of only 6!
Essentially we look at the peace beyond all this which all of us from many countries comprehend and the vital role which Europe played together in joining forces and the question on how this will continue successfully in Brexit, will largely be on peoples minds during this Remembrance Sunday. Let’s pray for the peace of all.
