As we draw near to the end of our study of the book of James, Pastor Andy leads us through a study of some of James chapter 5. One of the major themes from this chapter is that of patience and endurance. Have you allowed God to work in your life to produce these attributes? Do you want to? Let's talk about it!**********👋 BECOME PART OF THE COMMUNITY! (https://discord.gg/luxdigitalchurch)Lux Digital Church is a digital church expression devoted to the mission of Jesus. Guest speaker Pastor Matthew Murphy joins us this week as we continue our study in the book of James! He share some insight from the Word of God on what happens when we trade the good, holy, and eternal gifts that God has for us for the temporary, and earthly things of this world. **********👋 BECOME PART OF THE COMMUNITY! As we continue in our study of the book of James, Pastor Dalton walks us through why we aren't the main character in our life. When we claim Jesus as Lord and Savior, there are some things that aren't up for debate- we have a responsibility to act. But what does that look like exactly. Join for this and more!**********👋 BECOME PART OF THE COMMUNITY! (https://discord.gg/luxdigitalchurch)Lux Digital Church is a digital church expression devoted to the mission of Jesus. When we hurt someone, our immediate instinct is self-defense—saying things like "I was just joking" to shift the blame. In this week's message, guest speaker Pastor Patrick Holden dives into James 3:1–12 and Ephesians 4:29 to show why these weak explanations miss the mark. Our words hold massive power for destruction, and true relational repair doesn't come from self-help or trying harder. Instead, it requires a posture of desperation for the Holy Spirit to transform us from the inside out, moving us away from defensive excuses and into genuine, humble reconciliation.**********👋 BECOME PART OF THE COMMUNITY! How do you figure out what’s right when making massive life decisions? Our culture often mistakes intellect for true wisdom, but James 3:13–18 warns us to look closer at the source. In this episode of The Tempering (Season 2 of our Year of the Forge: Mind of the Maker), Pastor Andy (Chino Mage) contrasts two entirely different operating systems: earthly wisdom versus heavenly wisdom. Utilizing our Inductive Bible Study framework—Observation, Interpretation, and Application—this study exposes the subtle trap of selfish ambition and shows how divine wisdom leaves a steady harvest of peace. If you're ready to stop performing your faith and let your character be forged by God, this is your practical guide.**********👋 BECOME PART OF THE COMMUNITY! It’s easy in a digital culture to confuse passive agreement with real transformation. We hit "follow," nod along to good theology, and mistake a mental checklist for living faith. But what if your belief is perfectly accurate, yet completely dead?

In this episode of The Tempering, special guest Pastor Matt Geppert digs into James 2:14–26 to challenge the trap of passive consumption. Unpacking James’ stunning claim that even demons have an orthodox belief in God, this study reveals why true faith is never just intellectual assent. If you’re ready to break out of the loop and step into active obedience, this is your practical guide.

We live in a tier-list culture conditioned to favor clout, success, and status while overlooking everyone else. But what if playing favorites directly contradicts the heart of God? In this episode of The Tempering (Season 2 of our Year of the Forge: Mind of the Maker), Pastor Dalton digs into James 2:1–13 to confront the destructive trap of partiality. Using our Inductive Bible Study blueprint—Observation, Interpretation, and Application—he unpacks James’ vivid illustration of the rich and poor man to expose the hidden biases in our own hearts. If you're ready to break out of the cultural ranking trap and view your community through the lens of radical mercy, this study is your practical guide.**********👋 BECOME PART OF THE COMMUNITY! The Word of God doesn't exist to affirm us—it exists to transform us. In a digital culture that thrives on scrolling and passive consumption, it’s dangerously easy to treat Scripture the same way: looking at the truth, seeing what needs to change, and immediately forgetting it.In this talk. Lux Digital Church welcomes special guest Pastor Stevie Flockhart from 901 Church. Diving into James 1:19–27, Pastor Stevie challenges the trap of passive faith. Using James’ famous mirror metaphor and a highly relatable story about an expensive airport baggage disaster, he breaks down what it practically looks like to move from being a mere "hearer" of the Word to an active "doer" .**********👋 BECOME PART OF THE COMMUNITY! Ever feel like you’re doing "Bible study" wrong? You open the pages, read a few verses, get confused or bored, and close it feeling more guilty than before. In a digital culture drowning in information, we’ve been given plenty of access to Scripture, but very little training on how to actually read it. We treat it like a textbook to master or a checklist to complete, rather than a space to be transformed.

In this episode, we’re changing the approach.

Welcome to the Season 2 premiere of the Year of the Forge: Mind of the Maker. In this session, Pastor Andy (Chinomage) kicks off our summer series, The Tempering, by tackling biblical illiteracy head-on. We aren’t just talking about the Bible; we are walking through a repeatable, lifelong blueprint called Inductive Bible Study.**********👋 BECOME PART OF THE COMMUNITY! We live in a grind culture that demands a constant image of strength and success, making any admission of weakness feel like a massive risk. But what if hiding your flaws is exactly what’s keeping you spiritually and emotionally stuck? In the finale of our series The Refining, Pastor Mark dives into a radical truth that flies in the face of modern influencer culture: God’s power is made perfect in our weakness, not our polished performance. Looking at biblical examples like the apostle Paul, Mark shares a deeply personal update on his own battle with burnout and why he is stepping into an 8-week sabbatical. If you're tired of running on empty and relying on your own grit, this message is your invitation to stop performing and start practicing genuine vulnerability.**********👋 BECOME PART OF THE COMMUNITY!
