Sam Dodsworth has just sold his automobile company and he and his wife Fran are just about to set of on a trip to Europe. They set sail from New York and eventually arrive in England for their six months tour. As the story unfolds it becomes apparent that Fran Dodsworth has an eye for other men and to make matters worse they seem to be attracted to her. They cross the channel to visit Paris and it looks as if they’ve reached the point of no return when he returns to the States alone.
