Alumot Krav is a documentary podcast created by Roni Raffeld-Bluth, bringing forward the voices of wives of the wounded since October 7th - and of families learning to live alongside injury, in all its forms.
Roni created the podcast after her husband, Pitzi, was severely wounded in combat on the Lebanon border. He was shot in the face and miraculously survived - a moment that reshaped her life and led to the creation of this space.
These stories don't remain only in Hebrew.
Selected episodes are recorded in English, opening a window to Jewish communities around the world -and to anyone who seeks to understand through human stories.
In this episode, Roni speaks with Zee.
Zee and Amit grew up in the same neighborhood in the U.S. but only met years later - in Israel, after both made Aliyah.
A story that began in the diaspora and continues in Israel.
Within 24 hours, Zee received two life-changing pieces of news.
While Amit was fighting in Gaza - and against all expectations - Zee found out she was pregnant.
The next day, she received a phone call: Amit had been injured. She needed to get to the hospital immediately.
Just before he was taken into surgery, he looked at her and said:
"You're going to be an amazing mother."
In this episode, Zee shares what it means to build a home in Israel -
to choose this life - and to face, up close, the reality that comes with it.
She also speaks about the distance -how do you hold such a moment, when part of your family is far away?
Holding life and fear at the same time,
and the quiet strength it takes to keep going -
This story is rooted in a shared choice, in Zionism, and in building a life in Israel.
