Dealing with an immoral church member when the Church congregation itself is boastful and arrogant. Paul corrects both in this difficult chapter.  This message was given by Mark Elwell virtually for Living Water Community Church on August 16th.   Music: Bensound.com ("Energy")

Paul exhorts the Corinthians to “imitate me” and in turn to imitate Christ, showing us what it means to be a father, how we model to our children, how we as children imitate our fathers, and the ultimate example as seen in Jesus Christ.  This message was given by Dr. Steven Pipe virtually for Living Water Community Church on August 9th.   Music: Bensound.com ("Energy")

How do you maintain hope when your circumstances seem completely out of control? Paul addresses this question and we can see abundant evidence that his counsel is more applicable now than ever.   This message was given by Pastor Clark Cothern virtually for Living Water Community Church on August 2nd.   Music: Bensound.com ("Energy")

Paul goes into more detail in this section of his letter about what those "corruptible materials" are that he mentions a few verses earlier. He contrasts human wisdom and God's wisdom and shows why God takes seriously those who make it their mission to tear apart what's being built up on the foundation of Christ through the gospel message.  This message was given by Pastor Clark Cothern virtually for Living Water Community Church on July 26th.   Music: Bensound.com ("Energy")

Paul gets behind the division caused by people choosing one leader over another. Envy! But how can we tell if we struggle with the kind of envy that wants to be the boss of us? This message helps us find out.   This message was given by Pastor Clark Cothern virtually for Living Water Community Church on July 12th.   Music: Bensound.com ("Energy")

Paul talks about a mystery revealed. What's the mystery? How is it revealed? Do we play a part in the great reveal?  This message was given by Pastor Clark Cothern virtually for Living Water Community Church on July 5th.   Music: Bensound.com ("Energy")

Some people hear the gospel and think it's foolishness. Others see it as the power of God resulting in their salvation. How can it be so different?

Since this is Father's Day it's a good time to look at Paul's advice to people in Corinth who had developed a form of "Team Politics" within the church. He reminds them who their real leader should be. When we're focusing on Christ as the Head of the Body, all the power struggles and team associations disappear because we're too busy outdoing one another in showing honor.

2nd message in this series on 1st Corinthians. Paul had reason to be angry with the "messed up" church in Corinth. Instead he begins his letter with grace and gentleness. Why is that? At the beginning of this message Pastor Clark lays out plans for #sacklunchsaints, a vision to share hope around the world.
