- #C12 : ‘CONFESSION OF NEPALI TEENAGERS’‘Nepalese Teenagers Confession’, ‘Confession of Nepali Teenagers’ and ‘Confession of Nepalese Youths’ are all Facebook pages/groups that are extremely popular within the Nepali youths (especially those that live IN Nepal), but why?Well, in a society where ‘sex talk/ed’ don’t exist and opening up about ‘mental health struggles’ to your parents is not quite the norm, these teenagers and young adults need a safe place, where they are able to openly (yet anonymously) share their struggles, thoughts and ‘confess’ some of their deepest and intimate details of their lives - (& this is exactly what these groups provide). On this ep, we look at 4-5 of these anonymous ‘confessions’ to understand struggles today’s youths in Nepal are facing and offer our thoughts and advices on these issues.Accounts mentioned in this chapter:- Sinerji Studio: @sinerji.studio- Alliance4NepUK: @alliance4nepukPodcast hosted by the Lost Youths for the Lost Youths! We host a weekly polls on our Instagram following each topic. 55 min - #C8 : ‘The UK is NOT INNOCENT’ (Asian Hate Crime)
ASIAN HATE CRIME! From @nextshark to @jackfrootx, we have seen countless number of Asian hate crime cases being reported in the US (particularly NYC and LA) every time we open our Instagram and the number only seems to be increasing on a daily. Majority of the cases that we have seen and heard so far have been emerging from the US, but what about the UK?
On this episode, we discussed everything from UK’s anti-Asian racism, the recent cases to discussing our own experiences with micro-aggressions, casual racism and more severe hate crime - because as we all know, the UK is definitely not innocent and it’s time we stopped downplaying it.
