This is part 1 of a 2 part series with Yvette's mom, Dr. Holly Magana. She helps all of us understand why attachment theory is important and how secure attachments are the bedrock of relational wellbeing. And of course, Lynn cries in the episode. Enjoy!
This episode is a bit of a departure from our usual conversations. We asked kids around us "what do you love about your parents?" Honestly, it is too freaking cute, you have to hear it for yourself.
In this heartfelt episode, we explore the deep importance of cultivating healthy, loving, and nurturing relationships. Whether it’s romantic, familial, or platonic, the bonds we build shape our emotional well-being and our sense of connection to the world around us. Join us as we unpack what it means to show up fully for others—and for ourselves—and why love rooted in care and respect is essential to a thriving life.
On this episode we have the distinct pleasure of hosting Dr. Danh Ngo PT, DPT, OCS, SCS. We discuss how physical wellbeing supports relational wellbeing, and ask him to share some "bare minimum" approaches to improving wellbeing and addressing physical concerns.
Dr. Ngo is a physical therapist who can say he shares the experiences, the emotional and physical roller coaster journey, of having pain, needing surgery, having the surgery and realizing there was more than he could have done with less risk.
He once had spine surgery and now is on the journey to finding good medical care for his son’s medical health. Because of this, Dr Ngo has become an expert in helping members achieve an alternative to medications especially painkillers, procedures and avoiding surgery.
He is in the prestigious group of 0.1% of Physical Therapist in the country with a double certification in orthopedic and sports medicine specialist.
Dr. Ngo’s background and experience have allowed him to appreciate and marvel at the human body and its capability. Every day he works, he is still amazed at how little we know about this complex machine called the human body.

We recognize there are different approaches to categorizing the pillars of wellness; with all these approaches recognizing the importance of addressing physical well-being, psychological well-being, and relational well-being. We hope you enjoy this conversation.
