MK9s Service Dogs mission is to provide highly trained service dogs tailored to meet specific veteran needs. With an estimated 20 veteran suicides a day, there is a strong need to provide alternative treatments for veterans with physical and mental health challenges. 

MK9 Service Dogs provide highly trained service dogs to maximize the independence and quality of life of veterans with physical and/or mental disabilities at no cost to the veteran.

Michele Khol is the founder of MK9 Service Dogs and serves as its Director of Operations and K9 Programs backed by over 17 years of experience raising and training service dogs.  A recognized expert in this field, she is one of only six individuals world-wide who is a Service Dog Trainer certified by the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP).  To ensure she is proficient in other whole service dog / veteran with disabilities experience, Michele is also a Certified Canine Athlete Specialist, a graduate of This Able Veteran’s PTSD Service Dog Trainer Academy and successfully completed her certification as an ADA Coordinator.  To further outreach and standards, she currently serves as the IACP Service Dog Committee Chairperson.

PASCAGOULA-THE CLOSEST ENCOUNTER: MY STORY

Alien Abduction

Calvin Parker was 19 years old in 1973 when he and his friend Charles Hickson witnessed a UFO while fishing in Pascagoula Mississippi. They reported seeing strange creatures that took them into the craft and examined them. Terrified, they went to the police. Their story leaked, and the incident made headlines. Hickson, 42 years old at the time, was a family friend who had just gotten Parker a job. However, Parker wanted nothing to do with the publicity they were receiving and left town. He rarely spoke of the incident until now. With the release of his new book telling his side of the story, he is now doing interviews and a few appearances before he goes back to focusing on retirement and fishing.

Fifty years ago this year, I took my first Astrology class with my Mother. It opened the door to an unending journey to understand how the universe connects to all life through each of us. How did I come to have a passion for the Moon? 

Two decades ago, I walked away from a successful creative career as an Emmy Award Winning Hair Designer and Make-Up Artist and a 6 figure income. I was in search of a great life, not just a great resume...and life as a human being rather than a human doing. I was living a very solar go-go-go sort of life. My work at this pace left little time for all I wanted to experience and express. I was burned out.

I moved out of L.A. to a seaside town in the Bay Area of Northern California. I lived in a nurturing community of gardeners, artists, organic farmers, and fishermen and watched the ebb and flow of the tides and the way the gardeners grew and the fishermen responded to the natural unerring ebb and flow of the tides.  In this environment, I discovered my own natural rhythms.  I hosted and created “Star Talk” radio show and a friend and I launched the very first website on the Moon (other than NASA's). These provided the inspiration and framework for my development of a simple practical system that enables anyone to harness and utilize these powerful rhythms. As all life on Earth responds and grows in accordance with the timing of these rhythms and innate wisdom, so I learned how to grow the all-around healthy, truly wealthy life I was born to live.
