hey everyone, it’s tanya and welcome to my first episode! this episode’s artist is Olivia Rodrigo and she will certainly be on here more cause i’m a huge fan, if u couldn’t tell by my insta bio. A little recap of her, if you’re not too familiar who she is. She’s 17, like me and she first gained fans on a disney show called Bizaardvark, where she was known for playing Paige, a guitarist who ran a comedy channel with her best friend. But besides that, she was most recognized as the lead in the HSMTMTS series, Nini. She was given the amazing opportunity to write an original song for the show, which is All I Want which has been certified gold. She also co-wrote a song with her co-star lead Joshua Bassett, called Just for a Moment. Other than that, she’s been showing original songs on TikTok or Instagram and she’s very talented. I think she has a way of articulating feeling into a song and making it relatable. i think it’s something that we should all strive for as artists. But anyway, when her song drivers license came out, it blew up and in no time she was #1 and continues to be, which marks her 5th week on the Billboard Hot 100 as #1.
