Mississippi State's season was just about to take off last year after having won two midweek games against Texas Tech, and then the season shut down. The bulldogs were just getting their stride as they were about to play a huge 3 game series against Arkansas at home. Well, say no more as Mississippi State is finally at home again for a big series at THE DUDE against the Tulane Green Wave. Tulane is a good, solid program, will be a good test for our Diamond Dawgs. With that being said, I expect Mississippi State to sweep this series and severely take a HUGE LEAP forward!

I break down all three games, and pitching matchups. This will absolutely be a great weekend for Mississippi State Baseball as the Diamond Dawgs are just chomping at the bits to light it all up at home for the best fans in COLLEGE BASEBALL BY FAR!!! Also, I dive into what I expect from all three of our weekend rotation starters, also talking about hitting. I surely, believe this team not only can be a special pitching team that we've ever had, but this may could be one of our best hitting teams ever as well.

I expect the Diamond Dawgs to go sweep Tulane and improve to 6-1 for the year!

Mississippi State headed out to Arlington Texas for the State Farm College Baseball Showdown, and they did not disappoint. Diamond Dawg Ace Christian Macleod had an ace like performance against the No. 9 Texas Longhorns, and fireballer Landon Simms the strike out king bit Texas into as the diamond dawgs would win 8-3!

Mississippi State would face No. 10 TCU in Sunday's game without Saturday weekend pitcher Will Bednar, who had suffered some tightness in his neck that morning. The result, bulldogs would lose a tough, tight 3-2 match as the bulldogs basically played not their best at all, and loaded the bases with one out with a chance to win it. The effort fell short, but a lot of good learned lessons from that game got learned and earned.

Make way into game 3 of the weekend against No. 3 Texas Tech. Mississippi State knew they would be without Cerantola for that game. This game would be the test of a good team, to a great team, then determining the elite team. That meaning Great teams, but a great team can get lead when trailing, but an elite team can get the lead back when they had lost it. Mississippi State did all that and more in this contest as the Bulldogs would go onto beat the No.3 Texas Tech Red Raiders 11-5!!

So, all in all a fantastic opening weekend for Mississippi State. If you had told Coach Lemonis before weekend not knowing that two of his weekend starters in the pitching rotation would not pitch and Mississippi State would win two games, he would have taken it in a heartbeat. Now, throw in the fact that those two weekend pitchers would not pitch and Mississippi State still go 2-1 against the 3 top 10 teams he would have said youre probably too confident and screaming for JOY!!!

Folks Mississippi State is GOOD!!!!!
